“In 2010 I exhibited at Hans Bik in Leiden. My painting ‘Burgemeester van der Werffpark’ was hanging in the display window. The Hooglandse kerk, a Gothic church in Leiden, is visible through the mirroring effect of the diamond shaped glass, while the church is also depicted on the painting behind the glass. Later on the interior of the church - the light - became the inspiration for the collection Reformed Light.” J.V.
